One Dead, Two Detained After Violent Brawl in Lampa
A fight on Saturday night in the commune of Lampa left one man dead from multiple stab wounds and two other participants hospitalized and detained, according to BioBioChile. The confrontation unfolded around 23:00 hours at the intersection of Costanera and Canchas Carrera streets, where three individuals were gathered sharing and consuming alcohol.
Fatal Stabbing on Costanera Street
The victim, a 36-year-old Chilean man, died at the scene after suffering a deep neck wound, approximately four stab injuries to his back, and additional trauma to his arms. The group consisted of two brothers, aged 28 and 36, and a 44-year-old acquaintance who authorities state were known to each other beforehand, having been reunited at the location since hours before the incident.
According to details provided by prosecutor Felipe Olivarín of the Metropolitan Centro-Norte Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an argument broke out among the three men. Injuries and Arrests at the Scene
The violent exchange left all three participants with severe trauma. The younger brother, aged 28, sustained multiple stab wounds during the defense. Carabineros officers arrived to find one man dead and two wounded survivors. Both injured men were initially taken to a local health center in Lampa before being transferred to Hospital San José due to the critical nature of their injuries. Both surviving men remain under arrest and were scheduled to undergo a detention control hearing in Colina during the day. The 44-year-old is designated as an accused perpetrator of homicide, while the 28-year-old brother is detained for serious injuries.

Suspects Have Criminal Records as Police Gather Evidence
The Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that all three involved parties are of Chilean nationality and possess prior criminal records for minor offenses. The 44-year-old suspect holds previous convictions primarily for theft, along with past citations related to drug use.
Empty bottles were also recovered from the location, pointing to an extended gathering before the dispute erupted. Specialized police teams, including Carabineros’ Department S9 and Labocar, gathered security camera footage, witness statements, and testimony from responding police officers while performing peritajes at the scene. The deceased victim's body was transferred to the Legal Medical Service for official autopsies, forensic analysis, and examinations to determine the exact cause of death, while authorities continue investigating the precise dynamics of the fight.
