Omoi Licenses Love Is the Sweetest Journey Manga for 2027 English Release
Digital manga publisher Omoi, formerly known as Azuki, announced during its Anime NYC 2026 industry panel that it has licensed the romantic comedy manga Love Is the Sweetest Journey (Tabi wa Ui Mono Amai Mono) for an English-language release in 2027. The platform is also expanding its library with 45 titles from Titan Manga and a new distribution partnership for A Snow Fox at the Northern Fort.
Expanding the Digital Catalog via Omoi Premium
The Omoi Premium subscription service is undergoing a significant content expansion, according to announcements made at the Anime NYC 2026 event. The platform will add 45 titles from Titan Manga, an imprint of Titan Comics, over the coming weeks. While early volumes of Sanda, Record Journey, and The Elegant Courtly Life of the Tea Witch became available on the day of the announcement, the remainder of the Titan catalog is slated for release in the coming weeks. Subscribers maintain the option to purchase individual volumes separately, a hybrid model that balances recurring revenue streams with per-unit sales.
This expansion follows Omoi’s rebranding from Azuki in November 2025. The platform, which launched in June 2021, has navigated a shifting landscape regarding digital distribution rights. Notably, the service previously held a partnership with Kodansha USA, which facilitated simulpub releases until that arrangement concluded in January 2023. By diversifying its partnerships to include Titan Manga and Manga Mavericks Books—which will see the debut of Vegetable Sandwich on September 29—Omoi is positioning its subscription tier as a primary aggregator for niche and mid-market manga titles.
The Creative Pivot in Love Is the Sweetest Journey
Love Is the Sweetest Journey, a 2023 romantic comedy written by Momoshiro with art by Tomoko Mitsuki, serves as a cornerstone of Omoi’s 2027 licensing strategy. Originally serialized in Bungeishunju’s Seasons magazine, the narrative follows Suzune, a woman who was just about to turn 30 when her boyfriend of three years dumped her and admitted he had been cheating, and subsequently embarks on a soul-cleansing journey through Miyazaki Prefecture. During her travels, she encounters a novelist named Yuujin, leading to a collaboration that blends professional creative struggles with personal travelogue elements.

The acquisition highlights a tactical focus on mature, character-driven josei (women’s comic) titles. According to the synopsis provided by Omoi, the series utilizes real-world Japanese locations, a trend in the genre that often boosts regional tourism engagement.
Scholastic Graphix and the Print Market
Beyond digital distribution, the announcement confirmed a print partnership for A Snow Fox at the Northern Fort. Scholastic’s Graphix imprint is scheduled to release the fantasy series in black-and-white print editions starting in fall 2027. The manga, featuring art by Tawa Akeno and based on light novels by Tsukasa Mikuni, depicts the reincarnation of a young woman as a snow spirit who finds sanctuary among a garrison of knights.

The transition from digital serialization—which Omoi began in 2026—to print distribution reflects a standard lifecycle for successful digital-first manga.
