Recipe Unlimited Acquires All Canadian Olive Garden Locations, Eyes Expansion
VAUGHAN, ON – July 14, 2025 – Recipe Unlimited has officially acquired all eight Canadian Olive Garden restaurants from U.S.-based Darden Restaurants Inc.,a move that signals significant growth potential for the popular Italian-American chain in Canada. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition includes a crucial development agreement, granting the Vaughan, Ontario-based Recipe unlimited exclusive rights to develop and operate new Olive Garden locations across the country.While specific timelines for new openings have not yet been announced, Recipe Unlimited CEO Frank Hennessey expressed optimism about the brand’s future expansion.
Recipe unlimited boasts an extensive portfolio of over 1,200 restaurant locations in Canada, featuring well-known brands such as Swiss chalet, East Side mario’s, and the Pickle Barrel. This strategic acquisition positions Recipe Unlimited to leverage its established operational expertise and market presence to further cultivate the Olive garden brand within the Canadian dining landscape.
