Dubuque,Iowa – Council #573 of the Knights of Columbus in Dubuque,Iowa,celebrated its 125th anniversary on Sunday,marking a milestone as the oldest Knights of Columbus council in the state. The anniversary was commemorated wiht a Mass at St. Joseph the worker Church, followed by a dinner at the Knights of Columbus hall.
Founded on February 2, 1899, Council #573 has been a cornerstone of the Dubuque community for a century and a quarter, dedicated to its principles of faith, family, community, and patriotism. The Knights of Columbus, a global Catholic fraternal association, was established in 1882 by Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut. The Dubuque council’s longevity reflects the enduring values of the organization and its continued relevance in supporting local initiatives and charitable causes.

The anniversary celebration included recognition of past Grand Knights and long-time members,highlighting their contributions to the council’s success.
