Dutch entrepreneur and media personality Olcay Gulsen is engaged to Eelko van Kooten, a record label executive, she announced Friday evening via Instagram. Gulsen shared photos of her engagement ring and a message confirming the news.
“I said yes,” Gulsen wrote in a post accompanying the images. “Not just to him, but to a life full of love, laughter and growing together. OMG, I’m getting married.”
The couple’s engagement follows a year of publicly acknowledged romance. Gulsen revealed her relationship with van Kooten in an interview with LINDA. Magazine, describing him as someone who had been a source of support following the death of her father. “Eelko is someone I’ve known for a long time and who has been there for me after the death of my father. That was actually more of a coincidence than planned, but it just shows you that life is full of surprises,” she said at the time.
Van Kooten had previously hinted at his intention to propose, telling Shownieuws, “Yes, that should happen sometime,” while emphasizing his desire to keep the proposal a surprise.
Gulsen, 45, is a well-known figure in the Netherlands as a businesswoman and influencer. Van Kooten, 55, is a prominent figure in the music industry.
