Freeman‘s 18th-Inning Homer Lifts Dodgers Over Blue Jays in Marathon Game 3
LOS ANGELES – Freddie Freeman delivered a walk-off home run in the 18th inning to secure a 6-5 victory for the los Angeles Dodgers over the Toronto Blue Jays in a grueling Game 3 of the series on Sunday, October 27, 2025, at dodger Stadium. The dramatic win gives the Dodgers a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The back-and-forth contest, lasting over five hours, saw multiple lead changes and stellar pitching performances ultimately overshadowed by Freeman’s decisive blast. The Dodgers now stand one win away from advancing to the next round, while the Blue Jays face elimination and must win the next game to stay alive in the postseason.
The Blue Jays initially jumped ahead in the third inning after an error by Edman allowed Bo Bichette and another runner to remain on base. Alejandro Kirk then launched a three-run home run off Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow, giving Toronto a 3-0 advantage.The Dodgers responded in the fifth, tying the game at 4-4 with a rally sparked by a Kike Hernandez single and a double by Shohei Ohtani, followed by an RBI single from Freeman.
Toronto regained the lead in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Bichette, scoring Guerrero Jr. Though, the Dodgers answered immediately in the bottom of the seventh as Ohtani connected for a home run off Dominican pitcher Seranthony Domínguez, knotting the score at 5-5.
Both teams continued to battle, threatening to break the tie, but strong relief pitching kept the game deadlocked until Freeman’s heroics in the 18th. He punished Brendon Little (0-1) with the winning home run.
Glasnow pitched 4.2 innings, allowing four runs and striking out five. Will Klein (1-0) earned the win for the Dodgers, pitching four scoreless innings with five strikeouts.Max Scherzer pitched 4.1 innings for the Blue Jays, allowing three runs, but did not factor into the decision.
The fourth game of this series is scheduled for Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.
