Ohio vs. Ohio State Game to Stream Exclusively on Peacock Today
COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Bobcats will face the Ohio State Buckeyes today, September 9, 2023, in a matchup accessible exclusively thru a live stream on Peacock. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET from Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
This marks the first meeting between the two Ohio schools since 2010, a game remembered for an on-field incident involving the teams’ mascots, Rufus the Bobcat adn Brutus Buckeye.
Ohio enters the game with a dual-threat quarterback in Parker Navarro,who has completed 69.4% of his passes for an average of 243 yards per game and leads the Bobcats in rushing with 180 yards. Ohio is averaging 191.5 rushing yards per game, posing a challenge to Ohio State’s defensive line as it develops depth.
“Yeah, you have to be aware of him at all times,” Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles said of Navarro. “Whether its plus-one runs or he drops back and his first read isn’t there and he’s scrambling, you’ve got to have eyes on him…we can’t let him get outside the pocket and extend plays.”
Defensively, Ohio is coming off a strong performance against West Virginia, holding the Mountaineers to 2 of 13 on third-down conversions and forcing eight punts. Bobcats linebacker Michael Molnar was named the Mid-American Conference’s defensive player of the week for his seven tackles, 1 1/2 sacks, and 1 1/2 tackles for loss.
