Argentine Judge Resigns from Federal criminal Court in Corrientes
BUENOS AIRES – President Javier Milei has accepted the resignation of Dr. Víctor Antonio Alonso González from his position as a Judge of the Chamber of the Oral Court in Federal Criminal of Corrientes,effective December 1,2025. The decree, numbered 704/2025 and published today, October 2, 2025, in the Official Bulletin of the Republic of Argentina, marks a shift in the composition of the federal judiciary in the Corrientes Province.
The resignation comes amidst ongoing judicial reforms and a period of heightened scrutiny of the Argentine court system. Dr. Alonso González, identified by national ID number 11,407.282,submitted his resignation,prompting the presidential decree citing Article 99,subsection 4 of the National Constitution as the legal basis for the acceptance. This action initiates the process for appointing a successor, impacting future federal criminal proceedings within the Corrientes jurisdiction.
The official decree states the decision was made following review of File Ex-2025-100971231-APN-DGDYD#MJ. The decree was signed by President Milei and Chief of Cabinet Mariano Cúneo Libarona.
The national Directorate of the Official Registry has been instructed to publish and file the decree.
