A woman in her 80s died after a car and a van collided on the R319 in Co Mayo. The incident occurred on Friday evening and the woman, who was driving the car as the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the van were not seriously injured. The R319 has been closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and anyone who witnessed the crash or has camera footage is being encouraged to come forward. Gardaí are investigating the incident and appealing for information.
