Rochester, mich.- Oakland University’s swim and dive team will host the inaugural Golden Grizzly Classic this weekend, welcoming competitors to the Oakland Aquatic Center for a series of events beginning Saturday.
The three-day competition marks the frist time Oakland has hosted a swim and dive classic of this scale, providing a notable possibility to showcase the program and its athletes.Prelims for the 1-Meter Men event are scheduled for 9 AM on Saturday, with finals at 6 PM. Additional events throughout the weekend include the 100 Back,1650 Free,200 Back,100 Free,200 Breast,200 Fly,and 400 Free Relay.
Spectators can access live streaming of all sessions via Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/oaklandswimdive. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door before each session begins.
Due to ongoing repairs to the University’s high-temperature hot water system,access to the Oakland Aquatic Center is impacted. Pioneer Drive, from Ravine Drive to Parking Lot 17, is currently closed, along with P17 and the North VIP entrance to OU Credit Union O’Rena. Parking is available in P16, P26, or P29. Spectators must enter the Aquatic Center thru the OU Credit Union O’Rena main entrance on Pioneer Drive, descending the northeast staircase in the atrium.
Officials advise that the air temperature within the Oakland Aquatic Center may be adjusted due to the hot water system repairs. Updates will be posted on GoldenGrizzlies.com and the team’s social media channels.
