February 11, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Taipei, Taiwan – The Taipei City Government and NVIDIA completed a signing agreement today for the tech giant to establish a presence at the North Science Park, officials confirmed Wednesday. The signing, finalized after months of negotiation, paves the way for NVIDIA to build a substantial hub within Taipei’s technology sector.

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an is scheduled to provide details of the agreement at a press conference this afternoon, though the signing ceremony itself will not be open to the public. “We hope to have good news, everyone should watch and see,” Chiang stated earlier today when pressed by reporters, according to local media reports.

The agreement follows the completion of pricing negotiations for the T1718 base within the North Science Park, with the Taipei City Government and NVIDIA reaching a deal valued at NT$12.2 billion, according to Deputy Mayor Lee Sichuan. Lee indicated on February 6th that the agreement was expected to be finalized as early as today.

Chiang Wan-an, speaking at a separate event this morning, reiterated the city’s commitment to finalizing the deal before the Lunar New Year. He acknowledged the require to coordinate schedules with NVIDIA’s U.S. Headquarters, stating, “We are proceeding according to the original schedule, and we hope to have good news today.”

The Taipei City Government’s Research, Evaluation and Committee Chairman confirmed this afternoon’s signing during a network program interview. The move represents a significant win for Taipei as it seeks to attract leading technology companies and bolster its position as a regional tech hub. Further details are expected to be released following Chiang Wan-an’s scheduled briefing.
