Nova Scotia Immunization Clinics Cancelled Due to Weather | NS Health

Public Health Mobile Unit immunization clinics scheduled for today in several Nova Scotia communities have been cancelled due to inclement weather, officials announced Thursday.

The cancellations affect clinics at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro, the Pugwash Legion Branch, and the Spanish River Community Centre in Sydney. The Rath Eastlink Community Centre, located at 625 Abenaki Rd., was slated to host a Black Health and Wellness Immunization Clinic.

The clinics offered a range of vaccinations, including those for COVID-19, influenza, shingles, pneumococcal disease, RSV, chickenpox, measles, mumps, rubella, and tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). COVID-19 and influenza tests were also to be available, along with healthcare navigation services.

According to Nova Scotia Health, the Black Health and Wellness Immunization Clinics are intended to provide culturally specific healthcare access for Black and African Nova Scotians, offering a familiar and respectful environment for vaccinations and health inquiries. Interpretation support was to be available at all locations. While culturally specific, all members of the public were welcome to attend.

Appointments for COVID-19, influenza and RSV vaccines can be booked by phone at 1-833-797-7772 or online at novascotia.ca/vaccination and covidbooking.nshealth.ca, respectively. Other vaccines and services were to be offered on a drop-in basis.

The Rath Eastlink Community Centre, a multi-use facility in Truro, had several scheduled closures this month due to events, including cheerleading competitions and Bearcats hockey games, according to a facility update posted February 11, 2026. The facility’s aquatic centre is also closed on weekdays from 2 p.m. To 4 p.m.
