by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

norwich City are interviewing‍ candidates to replace⁢ Liam Manning, with Gary O’Neil, Will Still, and Jon Dahl Tomasson all holding ⁢talks with club officials.

the Championship club ⁤began their search ⁤following Manning’s dismissal on Saturday after ⁤a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City, a result that left Norwich 23rd in the table having lost five‌ of their eight home games this ⁢season. O’Neil, a former ‌Norwich player who made ⁢55 ⁤appearances and helped the club achieve promotion to the premier League via the play-offs in 2015, met⁤ with representatives earlier this week.Discussions have also ⁣taken place ‌with Still ⁤and⁤ Tomasson as the Canaries seek a swift return ⁤to form.

Tomasson, previously manager of Blackburn Rovers⁣ and ⁣the Sweden national ⁢team, brings meaningful Championship experience, having ⁣overseen 90 games at Ewood Park and guiding ‍Rovers to a seventh-place ⁢finish in‍ the ⁤2022-23 season. He was relieved of his⁣ duties ‌as Sweden‌ boss in October following a challenging ‌start to World Cup qualifying.

Still, 33, was ⁤recently dismissed ⁢by Southampton ⁤after ‍a five-month spell at⁣ St‍ Mary’s. Despite a short tenure, he maintains a strong reputation as an innovative young⁣ coach, building on his previous ‍successes with‍ Reims ‍and‍ Lens in France.

O’neil, who has also managed Bournemouth, has been out of work as his sacking by Wolves last December. He had previously been considered for the Wolves managerial position but⁣ withdrew from contention last week, citing concerns ‌about the‍ club’s current situation. Wolves are now expected to appoint Middlesbrough⁤ boss Rob Edwards.manning had previously defeated ⁣O’neil for the Norwich job earlier this⁣ year, having joined from Bristol City.
