Between August 7 and the second half of last week, a mass outbreak of acute gastroenteritis caused by noroviruses struck 111 clients and visitors at the Priessnitz Medical Spa in Jeseník, Czechia. Spa director Roman Provazník confirmed that administration rolled out surface and hand sanitization protocols, informed guests, and monitored employee health and internal catering operations alongside food sampling. These containment steps stabilized the situation, leaving no new cases reported.

For most affected individuals, the clinical course of norovirus was mild. According to the Olomouc Regional Public Health Station, people without compromised immunity typically overcome the pathogen within one to three days.
