NORMA Group Secures €30 Million Contract for Electric Vehicle Thermal Management

NORMA Group has won a critically‌ important contract, valued at over €30 million, to⁤ supply lightweight tubes for the thermal⁣ management systems of a new platform of small to medium-sized electric‌ passenger cars. the ‍deal, encompassing‌ multiple car models ⁣designed for urban mobility, will see NORMA Group deliver approximately 1.4 million tubes annually beginning ⁣in December 2026.

The tubes, manufactured from a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), are designed to optimize⁣ fluid flow and⁣ minimize pressure drop within the cooling circuit – a critical factor in maintaining efficient thermal management ⁤in electric vehicles. NORMA Group’s‍ “TP Flex” tube technology leverages both material composition and design to‍ achieve this.

“Large-scale production and availability of small and medium electric vehicles will be a main driver for the transition‍ towards a low-emission, ‌more climate-pleasant mobility,” stated Guido Grandi, CEO of NORMA Group.‍ “This contract proves that with our engineering expertise, our standardized quality management and our global‍ manufacturing footprint we‌ are the right partner for leading car manufacturers as they broaden‌ and scale up thier portfolio of battery-electric vehicles.”

Carolin Wolfsdörfer, President Mobility & New Energy at NORMA Group, emphasized the importance of lightweight components in electric vehicle design. “Specifically in‌ electric vehicles, car⁤ manufacturers focus on ⁣lightweight components⁣ as the total weight of a vehicle influences the amount of energy needed to⁤ move it.A lighter electric vehicle requires a less powerful drive or ‍offers a higher range.” NORMA Group’s joining technology is‌ adaptable for ‌use across various vehicle types, and the company offers customized solutions to meet specific customer needs.

Production of the tubes will take place at NORMA Group’s ⁤facility in Subotica, Serbia. to fulfill the contract, the company will be investing in new ergonomic assembly ⁢lines and upgrades to existing thermoforming equipment.
