Berlin – German pop group No Angels has released a new song, “I Still Believe,” as the anthem for this year’s RTL telethon, a major charity event raising funds for children in need. This marks the No Angels’ first new release since 2021.
The band-comprising Vanessa Petruo, Jessica Wahls, Sandy Mölling, Lucy Diakovska, and Nadja Benaissa-aims to send a message of hope and draw attention to the plight of children worldwide.
“In this day and age, it is indeed impossible to overlook the terrible events taking place around the world. Be it in Gaza or Ukraine or elsewhere.Children everywhere are suffering immeasurably,” said Sandy Mölling. “We must not close our eyes to this.”
Nadja Benaissa added, “I hope that the song comforts people, gives them strength and makes them feel understood.”
The song evoked nostalgic feelings for the group, reminiscent of their 2000 breakthrough hit,”Daylight in your Eyes.” “We felt like we did 25 years ago with ‘Daylight in your Eyes’. Each of us can identify so much with the song,” reported Lucy Diakovska. The No Angels rose to prominence after winning the talent show “Popstars” in 2000.
The RTL telethon begins November 20th at 6 p.m., and will be hosted by Wolfram Kons. The No Angels will perform the song live in the studio during the broadcast.
