NJPW partners with Street Fighter film for King of Pro Wrestling, source says
New Japan Pro-Wrestling is collaborating with the upcoming Street Fighter film for its King of Pro Wrestling 2026 event on Monday, October 12, at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, with the movie scheduled for a worldwide release on October 16, wrestlingnewssource.com reported.
The promotional partnership places the movie’s logo directly on the ring mat and corner posts inside the arena. The cross-promotion highlights three professional wrestlers appearing in the video game adaptation: NJPW star Hirooki Goto playing E. Honda, alongside WWE stars Cody Rhodes as Guile and Roman Reigns as Akuma.
While the promotional details are set, Goto currently has no match announced for the Sumo Hall card. He enters the event following an unsuccessful challenge against IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji at Destruction in Kobe, according to f4wonline.com.
