Nike Powerbeats Pro 2: New Colors, LeBron Collab & Hidden Tech
Nike and Beats unveiled the Powerbeats Pro 2 Nike Special Edition earbuds today, marking the first hardware collaboration between the two brands. The earbuds, available globally starting March 20 through nike.com, apple.com, and select Apple stores, follow an early-access lottery held on March 17 via SNKRS.
The special edition earbuds feature a striking “volt” yellow and matte black color scheme, with the Nike Swoosh prominently displayed on the right earbud and the Beats “b” logo on the left – a first for the audio brand. The charging case also sports a similar colorway and includes the Nike “Just Do It” mantra printed inside the lid.
Beyond the aesthetic changes, the Powerbeats Pro 2 Nike Special Edition retain the core technology of the standard Powerbeats Pro 2, including Active Noise Cancelling, Transparency mode, a built-in heart rate monitor, and secure-fit earhooks. The heart rate monitoring feature is designed to seamlessly sync with the Nike Run Club app.
LeBron James is featured in a campaign video promoting the collaboration, humorously showcasing his transition from basketball to golf. “I’ve been part of the Beats journey since day one with the original Powerbeats, and the Powerbeats Pro 2 represent everything I require in my daily routine, whether I’m training, recovering, or just living life,” James said in a press release.
The earbuds are priced at $249.99. Five ear tip sizes are included to ensure a comfortable and secure fit for a range of activities and intensities. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between elite athletic performance and street style, according to Nike and Beats.
