Nicole Nielsen Joins KPRC 2 Houston – CBS Dallas-Fort Worth Alum
Nicole Nielsen has joined the KPRC 2 news team in Houston, Texas, as a multimedia journalist, according to confirmations made on March 20, 2026.
Nielsen’s move follows her departure from CBS News Texas (KTVT) in the Dallas-Fort Worth market earlier in March, where she served as a reporter, multi-skilled journalist, fill-in anchor and traffic anchor. She had been with CBS 11 since June 2020.
At KPRC 2, Nielsen will be responsible for shooting, writing, and editing her own stories, according to her LinkedIn profile. She announced the position change on social media, stating, “As if I wasn’t far enough South, you’ll now find me on @KPRC2 in Houston.”
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Nielsen earned her degree summa cum laude. During her time at the university, she was a Journalism School ambassador and contributed to the university’s daily newscast, receiving multiple awards for her reporting and on-air presence from the Broadcast Education Association and the National Broadcasting Society.
Prior to her role at CBS News Texas, Nielsen completed internships with CBS News Texas, WFAA 8, CheddarU, and News 9 KWTV in Oklahoma City.
