Nick Dapper (36) and his girlfriend Lisa Deklerck (35) are opening a new restaurant called Dapper in the Planet group Arena.
Nick Dapper’s passion for hospitality was ignited in his youth by his father’s brasserie in Zeebrugge. After graduating from the Ter Duinen Hotel School, he honed his skills at the Michelin-starred restaurant ‘t Korennaer in Sint-Niklaas.
His culinary journey continued at Pure C in Cadzand, under the guidance of Sergio Herman, and alongside culinary luminary Roger Souvereyns, with whom he maintains a strong connection. Dapper describes Souvereyns as a “precursor” and a significant source of inspiration.
In recent years, Dapper worked at the gastronomic restaurant De Koolputten in Waasmunster. This summer, he embarks on a new venture with his wife, Lisa Deklerck, who has extensive experience in the hotel industry in Turkey and Egypt. Together, they are launching restaurant Dapper within the Planet Group Arena.
The ‘Executive Club’ at KAA Gent will be able to dine at the restaurant on match days starting Saturday, August 2. From September, the restaurant will be open to the public, including non-football enthusiasts, throughout the week and on weekends.
Lead
dapper succeeds Danny Horseele, who managed the stadium restaurant for over a decade. “I aim to continue his legacy,” Dapper stated. “While it remains a gastronomic establishment, we will be cooking in our own distinctive style.”
Dapper’s menu will feature a six-course tasting menu and à la carte options, with fish and shellfish comprising eighty percent of the offerings. The emphasis is on high-quality, seasonal ingredients. “Pampering our guests remains paramount,” Dapper emphasized. “This was a core principle under Danny, and it will certainly continue with us.”
