Dance Career and Performances With Lord of the Dance
Originally from County Meath, O’Brien built a prominent career in Irish dancing from a young age. She competed at an elite level throughout her teenage years, placing fourth in the world championships at the age of 17 before transitioning from competitive dancing to professional stage productions.
O’Brien subsequently performed in several touring shows produced by Flatley. Her credits across the international stage included Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, where she performed the lead role of Saoirse, as well as Feet of Flames and Celtic Tiger.
Earlier in 2026, speaking to the lifestyle outlet RSVP, Flatley discussed plans to mark the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. The couple resided near the 18th-century Castlehyde estate in County Cork, which Flatley purchased in 1999 and restored.
