Ovechkin Inches closer to Historic 900-Goal Milestone as Capitals Host Blues
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Alex ovechkin has another chance to reach a historic milestone tonight as the Washington Capitals face the St. Louis Blues at 7:30 p.m. ET (HBO MAX, MNMT, truTV, TNT). Ovechkin currently has 898 career goals, needing just two more to become the fourth player in NHL history to reach 900.
The pursuit of 900 goals places Ovechkin in rarefied air, alongside Wayne Gretzky (894), Gordie Howe (801), and Jaromir Jagr (766). Reaching this mark would further cement his legacy as one of the greatest goal scorers in hockey history and intensify the conversation surrounding his chase of Gretzky’s all-time record of 894 goals. The capitals (7-6-3) will look to support Ovechkin’s quest against a Blues team (7-7-1) seeking to improve their standing in the Western Conference.

Rounding out the evening, the Seattle Kraken (6-2-4) aim to continue their strong home record – currently 4-0-2 – as they host the San jose Sharks at 10 p.m. ET (KHN, KING 5, KONG, NBCSCA).
