Spain Welcomes a Wave of New Flight Routes This Autumn & Winter
Madrid – Travelers to and from Spain will have a wider range of options this autumn and winter, as airlines announce a important expansion of routes, connecting the country to destinations across Europe, North and South America, and beyond. The new services, launching throughout October 2025 and into early 2026, cater to both leisure and business travelers, bolstering tourism and connectivity.
EasyJet is spearheading much of the expansion, adding several routes from Barcelona and Málaga. Begining October 27th, the airline will launch flights between Barcelona and Edinburgh, as well as Barcelona and Southampton, operating the latter twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. A further route from Barcelona to Leeds will follow on October 29th, with flights available on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Concurrently, easyJet will initiate flights between Málaga and Edinburgh on October 28th, operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Beyond these, easyJet is also adding a route between Almería and Liverpool, commencing October 28th with twice-weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The airline is also expanding connections from Gran Canaria, launching services to Nantes on October 26th (Wednesdays and Sundays) and to Lyon on October 29th (Wednesdays and Saturdays).
National carrier Iberia is focusing on long-haul connections from Madrid. Direct flights to Orlando, Florida, will begin on October 26th, utilizing 292-seat Airbus A330 aircraft and increasing Iberia’s US destinations to nine. Flights to Recife, Brazil, are scheduled to start on December 13th, with three weekly connections.Iberia is also adding seasonal routes to Innsbruck, Austria, operating twice weekly between December 21st and Easter 2026, and to Tromso, Norway, beginning December 4th, 2025, and running until march 1st, 2026, also with twice-weekly flights. The airline will return to Rovaniemi, Finland, on December 3rd, operating until February 28th, 2026.
plus Ultra Airlines will also offer direct flights between Madrid and Buenos Aires, starting October 25th.
Volotea is adding a new domestic route, connecting Granada and Santander with twice-weekly flights starting December 5th on Tuesdays and Fridays, with additional Saturday flights during the Christmas period.
