The University of Oregon‘s Lundquist College of Business is reinstating its Master of Science in Management (MSM) degree program after a two-year pause, aiming to provide a business foundation for students from diverse academic backgrounds.
Program Overview and Objectives
According to Angela Davis,Senior Associate Dean of Academic Programs at the Lundquist College of Business,the Master of Arts and Master of Science in Management degrees were previously awarded to doctoral candidates who,while not completing their PhD,had satisfied sufficient coursework for a master’s degree. The revitalized MSM program seeks to offer a structured business education to a broader range of students.
Emily Moore, the newly appointed Academic Director of the MSM program, stated that the program’s launch was achieved primarily through careful planning and leveraging existing resources. The initial cohort will be small,utilizing existing graduate courses and systems.
