New Columbus Café Opens in Moissac Shopping Center
French coffee-shop chain Columbus Café has opened its second Tarn-et-Garonne establishment inside the shopping gallery of the Moissac hypermarket, bringing four new local jobs and serving its first drinks on Wednesday, October 21, at 8:30 a.m. The expansion highlights a partnership with Les Mousquetaires aimed at revitalizing commercial spaces in the region.
The new 135-square-meter establishment features 46 indoor seats and 25 terrace seats, welcoming customers Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Partnership Strategy in Southwestern France
The Moissac opening stems from a strategic partnership between Columbus Café and the Les Mousquetaires network. Frédéric Pastur, general manager of the coffee-shop chain, noted that the collaboration functions well across France with several examples already established.
L’objectif de cette inauguration à Moissac est de consolider notre maillage dans le Sud-Ouest de la France,
Pastur stated, adding that the brand’s Montauban cafe inside the Aussonne Leclerc is simultaneously undergoing renovation work.
Corinne Clémens, who leads the hypermarket project alongside William Clémens, emphasized that finding a French enterprise was a strict requirement for the space.
Pour moi, il fallait trouver une entreprise française, c’était non négociable,
Corinne Clémens said, explaining that the couple worked on the project for a year after struggling to find suitable candidates to replace the gallery’s former bistro.
Revitalizing the Moissac Shopping Gallery
William Clémens, a former local hypermarket director and ITM Hyper member, pointed to strong customer demand for a coffee and snacking venue within the modernized gallery.
Il y avait une forte demande des clients pour un lieu où boire un café et s’accorder une gourmandise,
William Clémens explained. He noted that while bakery and snacking offers multiply across Moissac, dedicated coffee shops remain much less common.
The inauguration follows major renovation work on the hypermarket itself that took place in the spring.
Moissac Cafe Opens with Eco-Cups and Community Menu
To mark the launch, posters have appeared across Moissac advertising the opening date. The venue is distributing 100 eco-cups to its first visitors on Wednesday, October 21. Beyond coffee, the menu offers a wide variety of products designed to provide a warm gathering space for the community. The cafe operates six days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
