King charles’s royal Seal Debuts on New British Passports
London, UK – A new design for British passports featuring the coat of arms of King Charles III will begin appearing in december, the Home Office announced today. This marks the first complete redesign of the passport in five years and introduces enhanced security features intended to make it the “most secure passport ever produced.”
The updated passports showcase British heritage with interior pages displaying iconic natural landscapes from across the United Kingdom – Ben Nevis in Scotland, the Lake District in England, Three Cliffs Bay in Wales, and the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. These visual changes accompany important upgrades to security, including new holographic and translucent elements designed to improve verification and deter forgery.
“The introduction of his majesty’s arms, iconic landscapes, and enhanced security features marks a new era in the history of the British passport,” stated migration and Citizenship Minister Mike Tapp. “It also demonstrates our commitment to outstanding public service – celebrating British heritage while ensuring our passports remain among the most secure and trusted in the world for years to come.”
