Dutch Firm P&P Projects Unveils Life-Sized Animatronic at IAAPA Expo Europe
BARCELONA, SPAIN – P&P Projects, a company based in Someren, Netherlands, is showcasing a towering new animatronic figure this week at teh IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona, signaling a important expansion of its capabilities in the themed entertainment industry. The reveal marks a major step forward for P&P, which established a dedicated animatronics division just last year.
The company’s venture into animatronics began with “Mormel,” a smaller, highly flexible show model. This year’s presentation features a much larger creation boasting a rigid exterior, demonstrating P&P’s progress toward maximizing movement with fewer mechanical components. The newly unveiled figure, a multi-meter tall, stone-like humanoid, is designed for integration into an upcoming attraction.
P&P Projects has long specialized in crafting detailed decor, interiors, and models for the attractions industry. The animatronics work now falls under the “ThemedMotion” banner, supported by a proprietary control system developed in-house. According to a company spokesperson,P&P is now equipped to build attractions incorporating substantial numbers of animatronic figures-projects involving fifty or even one hundred units are now within reach. The humanoid animatronic features a dynamic range of motion, including a gesturing right hand and a smaller companion figure exhibiting more subtle movements.
