Nebraska Men’s Basketball Remains Undefeated with 76-66 Victory Over washington
Lincoln, NE – The nebraska men’s basketball team (19-0, 8-0) continued its historic season Wednesday night, defeating the Washington huskies (10-9, 2-6) by a score of 76-66. The win comes after a 77-58 road victory at Northwestern last Saturday, extending Nebraska’s undefeated streak.
The huskers initially faced a tight contest, with Washington keeping the score close at 19-17. Nebraska responded with a dominant 13-2 run, building a significant lead and ultimately taking a 41-28 advantage into halftime. While the Huskies attempted to close the gap in the second half, Nebraska maintained control and secured the victory.
Nebraska shot efficiently from the field, going 28-of-55 (50.9%) including 11-of-29 (37.9%) from three-point range, and 9-of-12 (75%) from the free throw line. Washington shot 27-of-61 (44.3%) from the floor, 6-of-21 (28.6%) from beyond the arc, and 6-of-10 (60%) from the line.
Pryce Sandfort led all scorers with 23 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range. Sam Hoiberg contributed 14 points, shooting 6-of-9 overall and 2-of-4 from three. Berke Büyüktuncel added eight points and co-led the team in rebounds with seven,alongside Hoiberg.
Rienk Mast and Jamarques Lawrence combined for 23 points, with Mast scoring 12 on 4-of-13 shooting and Lawrence adding 11 on 3-of-7 shooting. Both players hit two three-pointers each.
Nebraska will now hit the road for its next two games, beginning with a matchup against Minnesota on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT on FS1.
