K-pop group NCT 127 delivered a high-energy medley of their hits “Kick It” and “Piñata” during the August 19 results show of America’s Got Talent. The performance, which showcased the group’s choreography, arrives just days before the release of their seventh studio album, BLINGY, on August 24.
The AGT Performance and the Path to BLINGY
NCT 127 took the stage on Wednesday night to perform, blending the 2020 track “Kick It” with their newest single, “Piñata.” The latter track serves as the lead offering from their upcoming nine-track studio album, BLINGY. This release marks a significant milestone for the group, representing their first full-length project in two years.
The current iteration of the group performing on America’s Got Talent includes members Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, and Haechan. Two other members, Doyoung and Jungwoo, are currently serving in the military. Following the album release, the group is scheduled to host an official “NCT 127 7th Album [BLINGY] Comeback Live Party” on August 25. This event is slated to include full performances of the new album tracks and behind-the-scenes stories regarding the recording sessions.
Competitive Shifts in the AGT Semifinals
The Wednesday broadcast also functioned as a milestone for the current season of America’s Got Talent, as the first group of semifinalists was officially determined. Voters advanced rapper Luke Taleno, animal act Olivia Befus, and the performance group Royal Lasers. These acts join the magic act Hundred Fingers, which secured a historic advancement after receiving a Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mandel during the quarterfinal round.

As the competition progresses, the production cycle remains rigorous. The next phase, quarterfinal two, is scheduled to feature a diverse lineup including Bety, Brad & Tracy, Butter & Grit, Come Here, Geno Ploeger, LaRussell, Mackenzie Sol, Nene Royal, Nyjah Music & Zyah Rhythm, Patrox, and Veronika Goroshkova. The season continues on August 25 on NBC, with streaming availability on Peacock the following day.
