Natasha Wilson sues dog owner Gregory Marcel after dog attack
Lifetime actress Natasha Wilson has been unable to work for the two years following a severe dog attack at a Los Angeles dog park, according to a lawsuit filed on Nov. 3, and obtained by E! News. Wilson, known for her roles in projects such as Single and Ready to Jingle, Trust in Love, and the series UnREAL, initiated legal action against dog owner Gregory Marcel, E! News reported.
The Incident at West Hollywood Dog Park
The encounter took place on Nov. 7, 2024, at the West Hollywood Dog Park. According to the court filing, Marcel’s dog, named Scruffy, was not on a leash and approached Wilson and her French bulldog. The complaint alleges that Marcel “could not promptly reach, control, or restrain the dog.”
Scruffy allegedly stood over Wilson’s bulldog in an aggressive posture. When Wilson picked up her pet, Scruffy jumped at the actress and knocked her to the ground. While Wilson attempted to shield her dog with her body and hands, Scruffy continued the attack, according to E! News.
Wilson Seeks Damages for Permanent Facial Scarring
The legal filing states that Scruffy bit Wilson on the face above her right eyebrow, causing a laceration and bleeding. Wilson’s legal team noted that the injury required sutures and left a permanent, visible, and painful scar, alongside an altered eyebrow, changed hair pattern, and impaired movement of the right brow.
Wilson is seeking economic damages, which include medical expenses, wage loss, and a loss of earnings capacity. The lawsuit asserts that she requires scar revision surgery to address the permanent disfigurement.
Lawsuit Blames Attack for Halting Acting Career
With at least 12 credits in Lifetime television shows and movies listed on her IMDb profile, Wilson claims the physical consequences of the attack have directly halted her acting career. The lawsuit targets Marcel regarding pet control in a public space.
