Sheldon Creed secured his first victory in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with a dramatic win in the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250 at EchoPark Speedway in Hampton, Georgia, on Saturday night. The race concluded a day of competition that also saw Kyle Busch win the Fr8 Racing 208.
Creed’s breakthrough came in a race that followed the cancellation of qualifying for the AutoTrader 400, a NASCAR Cup Series event also scheduled at EchoPark Speedway. Inclement weather forced officials to set the field for Sunday’s race based on performance metrics, with Daytona 500 winner Tyler Reddick starting on the pole.
Earlier Saturday, Kyle Busch claimed his third consecutive victory at EchoPark Speedway, winning the Fr8 Racing 208. The track, formerly known as Atlanta Motor Speedway, was recognized by the Georgia State Capitol on Thursday as an economic driver and community partner ahead of the weekend’s racing events.
Saturday’s doubleheader also saw poles awarded to Mayer and Garcia for their respective races. The weekend marks NASCAR’s return to EchoPark Speedway, with the track having undergone a reconfiguration in 2022 to create a drafting-style superspeedway similar to Daytona, and Talladega.
Chase Elliott, a Georgia native, is competing at his home track this weekend, returning after finishing fourth in the Daytona 500. Elliott secured a win at the reconfigured EchoPark Speedway last summer and expressed his appreciation for the support from fans, noting the unique energy experienced after the race.
According to NASCAR Insights data, Elliott has the best average finish at the track since the 2022 reconfiguration. The Hampton track is hosting NASCAR’s top three series this weekend, continuing its second season under the EchoPark Speedway name.
