Inoue Dominates Akhmadaliev, Retains Undisputed Super bantamweight Titles in Masterclass
Nagoya, Japan – Naoya Inoue, widely considered one of boxing’s premier pound-for-pound fighters, delivered a stunning display of skill and strategy to defeat Murodjon Akhmadaliev by unanimous decision on Sunday in Nagoya, Japan. Inoue successfully defended his undisputed super bantamweight world titles, extending his undefeated record to 31-0 with 27 knockouts.
The victory came against an opponent many considered his most challenging yet. Akhmadaliev,a former two-belt super bantamweight champion, proved a durable competitor, but Inoue’s superior technique and elusive movement gradually took control of the fight.
“I proved I can fight smart if I want to,” Inoue stated after the bout, highlighting a calculated approach to neutralizing Akhmadaliev’s power. “My team put together a great fight plan focusing on my technique and speed, and that’s what delivered the result.”
While Inoue didn’t secure a knockout – a rarity for the “Monster” – he consistently landed pinpoint accurate punches, dictating the pace and frustrating Akhmadaliev’s attempts to impose his own style. He admitted a desire to finish the fight more emphatically, saying, “Of course I wanted to knock him down but I managed to suppress that feeling and I got the decision.”
The win comes on the heels of another significant upset in the boxing world – Terence Crawford’s victory over Canelo alvarez – further solidifying Inoue’s position amongst the sport’s elite. Looking ahead, Inoue announced his next fight will be held in Saudi Arabia in December, promising fans another exciting chapter in his already illustrious career.
Despite having been knocked down in previous fights, inoue demonstrated resilience and tactical brilliance, proving once again why he is a force to be reckoned with in the super bantamweight division and beyond.
