My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has been putting his own spin on Billy Corgan‘s vocals during the band’s current tour.
The band continues their tour on July 26 in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium. They are also scheduled to perform several shows in August and September, with special guests such as Garbage, Death Cab for Cutie, and Evanescence joining them.
This tour commemorates the 20th anniversary of the band’s 2006 album, The Black Parade. last October,My Chemical Romance performed the iconic album in its entirety at the When We were Young music festival in Las Vegas. Since its release, the concept album has been widely recognized within the emo music scene and beyond, with Rolling Stone including it in their “The Greatest 500 Albums of all Time.”
Last month, My Chemical Romance released a deluxe edition reissue of their LP Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, which includes several previously unreleased live recordings. The four bonus tracks were recorded during a 2005 session for BBC Radio 1’s “The Lock Up.” Among these new additions are live renditions of “I’m Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena,” and “The Ghost of you,” and also a performance of “You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison,” which was originally a B-side on a limited edition UK CD single of “I’m Not Okay.”
