Musinsa & Korea Employment Agency Partner to Boost Disability Employment

March 24, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Seoul, South Korea – The Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities (KEAD) and Musinsa Retail Service, the retail arm of the prominent South Korean e-commerce platform Musinsa, formalized an agreement today to expand employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed at Musinsa headquarters in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, according to a Yonhap News Agency report.

The partnership aims to not only increase the number of disabled individuals employed by Musinsa but also to establish a model for inclusive hiring practices within the competitive fashion and retail industries. KEAD will provide support in analyzing suitable job roles, developing tailored employment models, and offering recruitment and vocational training services, as stated by officials.

Lee Jong-seong, CEO of KEAD, stated the collaboration will “actively support the spread of ESG management practices through hiring the disabled.” Park Dae-seong, CEO of Musinsa Retail Service, emphasized the company’s commitment to working with KEAD to “develop jobs for the disabled suitable for the fashion and retail field and create a disability-friendly working environment.”

This agreement comes as South Korea moves to raise its disability employment quotas, with a goal of creating approximately 33,000 latest jobs for people with disabilities by 2029, according to a report from the Chosun Biz. The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors within Korean corporations, signaling a shift towards evaluation based on metrics beyond profitability, as noted in a recent report by Seoulz.com.

KEAD recently hosted a delegation from Thailand’s Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in February, demonstrating a broader effort to strengthen international cooperation in vocational skills development and employment policies for persons with disabilities. The visit included sharing best practices and on-site training experiences at KEAD facilities.
