The show,blending poetry,humor,and music,aims to raise awareness about the disease by demystifying it through art. This artistic endeavor, supported by the town hall, will bring a personal journey, featuring a talented ensemble, to the stage, and the project is poised to be a poignant experience, spotlighting the importance of support for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
Muret to Host “Alzheimer Mon Amour” Benefit Performance: A Blend of art and Awareness
MURET, France—The EMEA auditorium in Muret is set to host a unique performance, “alzheimer mon amour,” on Sunday, May 18, at 4 p.m. This production, conceived by Jean Leblanc, aims to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease through a blend of poetry, humor, and tenderness.
A Personal Journey on Stage
Leblanc, who has been caring for his wife with Alzheimer’s for over a decade, brings a deeply personal outlook to the stage. he is joined by a talented ensemble of artists, including cellist Sylvain Rullier, a professor at the Muret music school, and pianist Franck Magné, also a teacher at the intercommunal music school. Juliet Emboors portrays Leblanc’s wife and sings alongside him,while Claire de Beaumont handles the staging,and André Laurens is responsible for the scenography.
Demystifying the Disease Through Art
The performance seeks to demystify this disease which scares, but which is a disease like the others,
according to Leblanc. The show blends text and music, creating an imaginary world where characters, represented as musical notes, evoke emotion, lightness, poetry, and humor.
More Than Just a Message: A Personal Course
Leblanc emphasizes that his ambition lies in sharing a personal journey rather than simply conveying a message. Though, he hopes to open a window on this disease which enormously contains people on themselves.
He encourages caregivers to seek support from organizations like France Alzheimer.
