MSI’s New Gaming PC Features a Hologram Dragon
MSI has unveiled a new high-performance desktop computer, the Aegis RS2, featuring a distinct design element: a physical, three-dimensional holographic dragon integrated directly into the chassis. This aesthetic choice marks a shift in the company’s approach to hardware personalization within its gaming-focused product lines.
The holographic display is positioned behind a glass panel, allowing the dragon—the long-standing emblem of the MSI brand—to appear as if We see floating within the machine’s cooling environment. Unlike standard static logos or simple LED lighting arrays, this component utilizes a specialized projector mechanism designed to generate a depth-reliant visual effect that remains visible from multiple viewing angles.
Technically, the Aegis RS2 series is built to accommodate high-end consumer hardware, including the latest generation of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards and Intel Core processors. The integration of the holographic element does not impact the internal airflow or the thermal management systems required for these components, as the projector module occupies a dedicated space within the front or side paneling of the custom tower.
The implementation of this feature follows a broader industry trend where manufacturers are increasingly prioritizing visual customization to differentiate pre-built gaming systems from custom-built alternatives. While the holographic dragon is the primary visual differentiator for this model, the chassis also supports standard ARGB lighting synchronization, allowing users to coordinate the internal glow with the holographic projection through MSI’s proprietary software suite.
MSI has confirmed that the Aegis RS2 will be distributed through global retail channels, with regional pricing and specific hardware configurations expected to vary by market. The company has not yet provided a detailed breakdown of the internal projector’s lifespan or the potential for user-customized holographic animations, leaving the current iteration limited to the pre-installed dragon design.
