Moscow to Host North Idaho Legislative Tour November 8-10
The Moscow Chamber of Commerce + Visitor Center is preparing to welcome Idaho legislators, business leaders, community partners, and legislative advisors to Moscow from November 8 to 10 for the North Idaho Legislative Tour (NILT). The three-day event brings newly elected policymakers directly to the region’s agricultural, educational, and industrial hubs following the 2026 election cycle.
Building Regional Ties After the 2026 Election
As communities across North Central Idaho prepare to host state decision-makers, the focus centers on establishing durable working relationships between lawmakers and the region they represent. The North Idaho Legislative Tour operates as a collaborative effort between the Idaho Chamber Alliance (ICA) and local host communities, utilizing a planning committee of statewide chamber directors to curate the itinerary.
Kendra Chilbert, Executive Director of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce + Visitor Center, emphasizes the hands-on nature of the upcoming visit. “This is a unique opportunity to invite legislators into our community and give them a firsthand look at the businesses, educational institutions, agriculture, transportation infrastructure, and other industries that make our region such an important part of Idaho,” Chilbert states. She notes that organizers want participants to experience Moscow directly and build connections extending well beyond the tour dates.
Travis Jones, Director of the Idaho Chamber Alliance, echoes that sentiment regarding the broader statewide purpose of the initiative. “Every community in Idaho has a story to tell about the industries, businesses, and people who contribute to our state,” Jones explains, pointing out how the program brings local narratives straight to the state’s policymakers.
Itinerary Highlights Across the Palouse
The structured three-day schedule encompasses diverse sectors of the regional economy, starting Sunday, November 8, with a welcome social, facility tours at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, and scheduled legislative caucuses.
Programming on Monday, November 9, shifts toward critical infrastructure and higher education. Participants will tour the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport, enjoy lunch and institutional overviews at the University of Idaho, attend a dedicated Idaho agriculture panel, and conclude the evening at the Governor’s Banquet held inside the ICCU Arena. University of Idaho tour segments specifically feature the School of Health and Medical Professions, the Meat Science & Innovation Center, the Seed Potato Germplasm Laboratory, and the Athletics Department.
The tour wraps up on Tuesday, November 10, with a site visit to Bennett Lumber Products in Princeton, providing participants with an unvarnished look at regional timber manufacturing and local industrial operations.

By connecting legislators with agricultural research facilities, forestry operations, and engineering firms on the ground, the tour ensures that future legislative decisions regarding infrastructure funding, higher education support, and natural resource management are informed by firsthand observation rather than abstract debate.
