It is a strategic step to strengthen our presence on the Dutch market and a source of pride to see Rabat, City of Lights, cultural capital, becoming the focal point of European travel leaders.”
The announcement comes amidst strong growth in tourism from the Benelux region. As of late August 2025, Belgium saw an 11% increase in visitors, while Dutch tourism rose by 14% compared to 2024.
Further enhancing connectivity, Transavia inaugurated a new direct flight route between Amsterdam and Rabat on November 13, 2025. Operating twice weekly (Thursdays and Sundays), this new route will position Rabat as an attractive destination for short breaks and business travel, and will provide easier access to explore cities in northern and central Morocco, including Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fez, and Meknes.
The ONMT views these initiatives as crucial to securing and expanding its presence in key European markets, solidifying Rabat’s position as a leading destination.
