Austin’s hospitality scene welcomes a new contender with the opening of Revenge Bar, located at 507 West Avenue. The establishment, founded by mixologist Emily Smitheal, aims to offer a distinct cocktail experience, with Smitheal expressing a desire to counter external influences shaping the city’s culinary landscape.
Revenge Bar’s menu features a selection of “bold” cocktails, including “The Devil made Me Do It,” a spicy margarita with notes of orange, lime, blackberry, and agave. Another offering, “Sleep On It, Sweetheart,” is described as a twist on the espresso martini, incorporating Cinnamon Toast Crunch cold foam. The “Brushfire” cocktail is made with Rosaluna mezcal, Campari, sage, jalapeño, lime, grapefruit, and clarified milk.
The bar’s interior design evokes a classic late-night cocktail lounge atmosphere. It features small marble-topped tables, red velvet seating, and low, red-tinted lighting. The bar itself is characterized by a curved design and mid-century modern styling.
