Moon Heejun Gives Money Advice and Discusses H.O.T. 30th Anniversary
Moon Heejun, leader of the pioneering K-pop group H.O.T., advised junior idols to manage their own finances and give their parents an allowance rather than handing over full control of their earnings, Koreaboo reported on October 15th.
Financial Advice Rooted in Early Industry Experience
Appearing as a guest on the third episode of the T-cast E Channel variety show Seo In Young’s Trend Boomer, Moon spoke from experience as the group approaches its 30th debut anniversary. Show host Seo In Young expressed her affection by sharing that she was a fan of Moon, while fellow guest Mimiminu joined them to discuss generational shifts in K-pop working styles and industry trends.
Toward the end of the broadcast, Moon addressed the financial pitfalls awaiting young performers who suddenly command substantial income. Without a developed economic sense, he noted, young stars can face severe difficulties driven by excessive spending and debt accumulation.
Moon explained that parents of young stars are often dealing with sudden fame for the first time themselves and can easily get swept up in momentary greed. Advising juniors to take direct charge of their money, he remarked that it is much better for artists to manage their own funds and distribute an allowance to their parents.
H.O.T. All-Group Performance Talks for 30th Anniversary
During the same variety appearance, Moon touched on the current status of H.O.T.’s commemorative activities. He revealed that the members have been in discussions for 11 months regarding a potential full-group performance to mark their upcoming 30th debut anniversary. With the calendar year drawing to a close, the prolonged talks have sparked widespread curiosity among fans regarding whether the milestone concert will ultimately materialize.
