Montreal: Rue Saint-Catherine to Become Pedestrian Zone in 2030

The ‌city plans ⁤to take advantage of work carried out ⁣on water⁣ pipes to rethink the development of rue Saint-Catherine Est. Mayor ‍Valérie Plante announced ⁣on Friday that the street would be pedestrian all year round, from Berri to Papineau. [[1]]

The pedestrianization⁣ of rue Sainte-Catherine over a distance of just over a ‌kilometer‍ is the result of a consultation which lasted three years, said Valérie Plante. ‍The city will invest 200 million in this project which will ​be⁤ inaugurated in 2030. [[1]]
