Outdoor cinema enthusiasts in Montirat are in for a treat as “Culture in sharing” and “Living in Lagarde Viaur,” in collaboration with “Mondes et Multitudes,” present a special screening of Cédric klapisch’s latest film, “La Venue de l’Avenir.” The event is scheduled for Thursday, August 14, at 9 p.m. at Tel (roucas Roucas), a location known for the Stabu brewery. The film, which premiered out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 22, 2025, the same day as its theatrical release, boasts an remarkable cast including Suzanne Lindon, Abraham Wapler, Vincent Macaigne, Julia Piaton, Zinedine Soualem, Paul Kircher, Vassili Schneider, Sara Giraudeau, and Cécile de France.
“La Venue de l’Avenir” tells the story of approximately thirty family members who inherit an old, abandoned house in Normandy in 2025. Four of them-Seb, Céline, Guy, and Abdel-undertake the task of inventorying its contents. Through letters, photographs, and hidden mementos, they uncover the life of Adèle, their ancestor who moved from Normandy to paris in 1895.The film artfully interweaves these two time periods, exploring themes of genealogy, identity, and the emergence of Impressionism, while prompting reflection on present-day connections through the lens of the past.
