Mons Arcis Cinema Festival: Film, Music & Awards in Montesarchio

montesarchio Launches Inaugural Film Festival, Honors Ornella Muti with Lifetime Achievement Award

Montesarchio, Italy – The first edition of the Mons Arcis Cinema festival commenced today, showcasing a diverse program of films, performances, and tributes in the newly constructed Casa MonsArcis. The festival, organized and financed by the Municipality of Montesarchio with support from the Campania Region and the Campania Region Film Commission, aims to establish itself as a notable cultural event in the region.

The festival’s opening weekend features screenings of “Memoria Incisa” and “Never Again” by Joseph Mataluni, alongside “Marmo Polo” by Elisa Fuksas, with Iaia Forte. A tribute to the late pino Daniele is central to the program, including the docufilm “Pino” by Francesco lettieri and a concert by the Pino Daniele Tribute band featuring Alfredo Salzano, Giuseppe Marlon Salzano, Antonello Palomba, Jack Corona, Giovanni Gentile, and Enrico Salzano. Sunday’s events include a Nineteenth-Century Grand Ball presented by the Cultural association Naples and Caserta dance companies, and a debate on “Marmo Polo” with screenwriter Elisa Casseri and director Elisa Fuksas.

A highlight of the festival will be the MonsArcis Gala, where acclaimed actress Ornella Muti will receive the MonsArcis Career 2025 Award for Lifetime Achievement, recognized with a David Special Award at the 70th edition of the David di Donatello awards. Actor fausto Verginelli will be honored with the MonsArcis Best leading Actor Award 2025 for his performance in “L’Altra Via.” The festival continues through the weekend with screenings and discussions,solidifying Montesarchio’s commitment to cinematic arts and cultural enrichment.
