Mohamed Ramadan Sends Friendly Message to Ahmed El Awady Ahead of Ramadan 2027 Competition
Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan published a direct message to colleague Ahmed El Awady on Tuesday, ending weeks of indirect digital jabs as both prepare to compete in the Ramadan 2027 television season, alarabiya.net reported.
Ramadan Changes Tack From Indirect Posts to Direct Address
The public exchange follows a series of opaque social media posts that began in October. Ramadan posted on Facebook referencing his upcoming prison executioner role in the series “Ashmawy”, writing that he had been away for three years and telling followers that Ashmawy had arrived. El Awady responded on his own account by invoking his character, Sultan El Deeb, from his own upcoming Ramadan 2027 series, stating that his camp owned the territory they were returning to, according to CNN Arabic.
The digital friction expanded when Ramadan promoted an upcoming track with festival singer Essam Sasa, posting that anyone who guessed the title correctly would win nothing because his goal was entertainment rather than begging for streams.
El Awady answered that specific post by questioning Ramadan’s three-year absence from the Ramadan drama race, writing on Facebook that a return after a long break often results in empty noise.
Age, Stardom, and the Battle for Ramadan Ratings
In his direct Tuesday message on Facebook, Ramadan praised El Awady for his genuine love and representation of everyday working-class people who contributed to Egypt’s artistic history. Ramadan wrote that while El Awady is older in age, he himself secured a starring film role first, framing the dynamic by stating that El Awady is his older brother in years, but he is the older brother in terms of leading roles. Ramadan added that he hopes El Awady’s series breaks viewership records and that they might watch an episode together during Ramadan 2027.

Okaz.com.sa reported that El Awady replied promptly, emphasizing mutual love and respect while pointing out that he is older by a year and a half, though Ramadan holds a greater volume of completed work. El Awady thanked Ramadan for acknowledging the working-class audience that underpins both actors’ careers and stated that their earlier social media posts were simply meant to spark healthy competition for viewers. El Awady countered with an invitation of his own, asking Ramadan to watch the premiere of “Sultan El Deeb” with him in his home neighborhood of Ain Shams.
Actors Lead Dense Ensemble Casts in Street-Level Dramas
Both actors head into the 2027 scheduling calendar with dense ensemble casts for their respective street-level dramas. Ramadan’s “Ashmawy” features a cast including Somaya El Khashab, Bassem Samra, and Yosra El Lozy, centering on the professional life of a prison executioner. Meanwhile, El Awady leads “Sultan El Deeb” alongside Yara El Sokkary, Sوسن بدر (Sawsan Badr), and Rania Youssef, with production handled by Tamer Morsy, scripts written by Mahmoud Hamdan, and direction by Mohamed Abdel Salam.
