The Portland Timbers will begin their 16th Major League Soccer season on Saturday, February 21, hosting the Columbus Crew at Providence Park, Major League Soccer announced Monday.
The 2026 schedule features 34 games for each team. Portland will also compete in the Cascadia Cup against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Seattle Sounders FC. The Timbers will host Vancouver on March 7 and travel to face them on April 4. Matches against Seattle are scheduled for July 16 in Seattle and August 1 at Providence Park.
League play will pause from May 25 to July 16 to accommodate the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be hosted in North America. Portland’s match at Seattle on July 16 is one of four MLS matches scheduled to resume league action following the tournament break.
All MLS regular season matches in 2026 will be available on Apple TV in over 100 countries and regions, with no blackouts. An Apple TV subscription will be included with a 2026 Annual Timbers Membership.
Columbus Crew recently faced Charlotte FC on May 24, 2025, losing 3-2. Patrick Agyemeng scored two goals for Charlotte FC in that match, while Pep Biel contributed a goal and an assist. Wilfried Zaha assisted both Agyemang and Biel. Jack Neeley made his MLS debut in the match as a substitute.
Charlotte FC remains undefeated at home against Columbus, with a record of 3-0-1. The club snapped a five-match winless run in league competition with the victory.
