Misiones, Paraguay – The VIII Sanitary Region of Misiones has reported a important milestone in healthcare provision, delivering over 500,804 medical attention services to residents between January and September 2025. This comprehensive figure underscores the ongoing commitment to public health within the department.
Data compiled through the Health Information System (HIS) and the Ambulatory Care Subsystem (SAA) reveals a robust network of healthcare services actively serving the population of Misiones. the breakdown of care modalities highlights the breadth of support available.
Specifically, the report details 338,718 external consultations, 7,251 instances of home-based care, 14,184 extramural services, 143 telehealth consultations, and a considerable 140,488 emergency treatments. These figures demonstrate a proactive approach to both preventative and urgent medical needs.
Beyond routine consultations, the region’s healthcare infrastructure has also facilitated 790 surgical procedures, 2,482 clinic-based treatments, 1,494 gynecological consultations, 126 neonatal care instances, 2,204 pediatric services, 302 therapy sessions, 444 trauma cases addressed, and 7,781 hospitalizations.
Healthcare access is distributed across the ten districts of Misiones, with San ignacio receiving the highest volume of care at 119,431, followed by San Juan (115,097), Santa Rosa (76,035), Ayolas (61,524), Santa María (31,553), San Miguel (27,775), Santiago (26,214), San Patricio (16,437), Villa Florida (14,993), and Yabebyry (11,745).
