Minors Face Juvenile Court for Attempted Murder, Il Tempo Reports

Minors Face Juvenile Court for Attempted Murder, Il Tempo Reports

October 16, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Rome prosecutors transferred the minicar investigation file to the juvenile court, where magistrates will decide whether to question two teenage suspects, issue precautionary measures, or order further inquiries, Il Tempo reported.

Two Minors Face Attempted Murder Charges

The case involves two minors aged 16 and 17 who confessed to carrying out six attacks between Monteverde and Testaccio between October 4 and October 5. Carabinieri and local police identified the teenagers following an investigation coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini and Prosecutor Ambrogio Cassiani. Both suspects face open-ended charges of attempted murder and bodily harm.

Criminal defense lawyer Daniele Bocciolini, an expert in juvenile law cited by Il Tempo, outlined the potential actions facing the magistrates. “Precautions that can be applied range from home detention and specific restrictions, such as a ban on leaving the home during certain hours, to placement in a community and, ultimately, pre-trial custody in prison,” Bocciolini said.

Medical Status of Actor Davide Iacopini

The most serious incident involves 42-year-old actor Davide Iacopini, who remains hospitalized at the San Camillo hospital after striking his head against a parked car during the attacks. Hospital representatives provided an update on his condition. “Intensive support still remains complete and progress will be evaluated during the next week,” medical staff stated, noting that Iacopini’s condition is stable and doctors are gradually adjusting his care intensity.

One of the teenage suspects described the encounter during questioning. “We pulled up alongside a man on a scooter: I knocked his hand off the handlebar, that must be where he fell. Then I read his name in the newspaper,” the minor told investigators.

Meanwhile, the mother of the minor who sat on the passenger side of the minicar spoke to La Repubblica regarding the fallout. “My son will have to take responsibility for his actions, but he is not a monster. I would like to speak to Davide Iacopini’s mother and ask her for forgiveness,” she said.
