Minnesota Forecast Predicts Mild Weekend and Boring Weather Ahead
Above-normal temperatures and plenty of sunshine are spanning Minnesota and surrounding areas this weekend, providing dry conditions for outdoor activities, deer hunters, antique hunters, and general outdoor lovers alike.
Most locations have experienced temperatures in the 50s on Saturday, alongside mostly clear skies and prevailing southwesterly winds. Southern Minnesota has seen or expects some 60-degree readings. This mild weather is continuing on Sunday and will persist into Monday, with Monday looking especially mild across southern and western Minnesota as highs reach the lower 60s.
Cold Front Brings Wind Shift and Increased Cloud Cover
An increase in clouds is expected during the evening and into the overnight hours, accompanied by a shift in wind direction from southwest to more west overnight, and then northwest on Sunday. This transition stems from a cold front passing over the state tonight, though it brings very little other change to the weather. Cloud cover will increase late Saturday into Saturday night before clearing out during the early part of the day on Sunday.
Cooler Air Arrives Midweek Ahead of Dry Extended Forecast
Cooler air will begin spreading across the state on Wednesday, bringing highs generally in the 40s and lower 50s. Most areas will remain dry, although a weak disturbance could produce isolated showers in parts of southern Minnesota.
No widespread rain or accumulating snow is forecast in the near term. The next more substantial precipitation opportunity does not look to arrive until around November 18 through November 20. The National Weather Service Twin Cities office refers to this extended break from active weather spanning 10 to 12 days as boring weather.
