Minneapolis Events: Feb 17-23 – Music, Shows & More

Minneapolis and St. Paul venues are brimming with live music this week, offering a diverse range of performances from local artists to nationally touring acts. Wednesday, February 18th, features a particularly full schedule, with Kandace Springs performing at Dakota Jazz Club.

The Dakota, located at 1010 Nicollet Avenue, is hosting Springs as part of a busy week for the venue. According to event listings, the performance is scheduled to begin at 1:00 AM.

Elsewhere in the Twin Cities on Wednesday, Drunken Monkee will perform at Acadia, whereas Glass Eyed Brother, Manifest Content, Sleepy Eye, and Dave’s Manual are slated to play Amsterdam. The Aster Cafe will host a MN Songwriter Showcase, and Michael Mayo will take the stage at Berlin. The Cherry Pit Open Jam and Twine are also scheduled to perform at Berlin and Bunker’s respectively.

Several other venues will feature a variety of acts. Rogue Valley will perform at Dakota, while Kitchen Patrol & Joe are scheduled for Day Block Brewing. The Outcats will play at Driftwood Char Bar, and The Twin Cities Céilí Band will perform at Dubliner Pub. Open Mic with Neal Dimick is set for Ginkgo Coffee, and Sounds of Santana and Drums of Navarone will perform at Granada. Flavor Jam: Flavor Olympics is scheduled at Green Room, and Practice As A Show: Polica Residency will be at Icehouse.

The Turf Club will host Stephen Kellogg and the Homecoming with gutter sinatra, while St. Paul Mudsteppers will perform at White Squirrel. Lords of the Universe, Attracted To Gods, and Mid Death Calm are also scheduled to play at White Squirrel.

Tuesday, February 17th, saw performances by DJ Cam Jones at Acadia, The Browning at Amsterdam, Laraaji at Berlin, and Greatest Jam on Earth at Blues Saloon. International Reggae Allstars played at Bunker’s, and Black Belt Eagle Scout, Mato Wayuhi, and Ailani performed at the Cedar Cultural Center. St. Dominic’s Trio played at Driftwood Char Bar, and Freya Skye performed at Fillmore.

Thursday, February 19th, promises a continued flurry of activity, with Takeover Thursdays: Lazyflex at Abi’s and DJ Cam Jones returning to Acadia. David Huckfelt & the Unarmed Forces, along with Channy Leaneagh, are scheduled to perform at Cedar Cultural Center. Marc Ribot will perform at Dakota with his group Hurry Red Telephone, consisting of saxophonist Briggan Krauss, drummer Chad Taylor, and bassist Sebastian Steinberg. Nur-D & Brass and Boujee will perform at Underground Music.
