Bucks Make NBA History, Sign Alex Antetokounmpo to Join Brothers Giannis and Thanasis
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way NBA contract, creating a first-of-its-kind situation in league history: three brothers on the active roster of the same team. The signing, reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania on October 13, 2025, unites Alex with his older brothers, Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
This unprecedented move solidifies the Antetokounmpo family’s presence in Milwaukee and offers Alex a renewed prospect in the NBA after a period of professional play in Europe. The Bucks released Jamaree Bouyea from his two-way contract to make room for Alex on the roster.
Alex Antetokounmpo, 22, is familiar with the Bucks organization, having previously played for their G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin herd, between 2022 and 2024. He also spent time with the Raptors 905 during the 2021-2022 G-League season. Prior to returning to the G-League system, Alex had stints with Mazeikiai in Lithuania, Buducnost Podgorica in Montenegro, and PAOK and Aris salonika in Greece during 2024. He was released by Aris Salonika last week.
